Simply put, we’ll always do our best to fulfill your needs and meet your expectations, but it’s important to have things written down so that we both know what’s what, who should do what and when, and what will happen if something goes wrong. On this page you won’t find any complicated legal terms or long passages of unreadable text. We’ve no desire to trick you into something that you might later regret. What we do want is what’s best for both you and us, now and in the future. By using our website and purchasing our products or services, both you and us agree to the following:

Website Usage

We operate this website at the lewiswoodwork.com domain, and by visiting this website you agree to these terms, if you do not agree then you should not use our website.

Our website is designed to promote our products and services and not be an authorative source of information. While we make every effort to provide accurate information, errors may occur, and we are not responsible for any information that is not accurate, complete, nor current. We want to grow and learn as much as anyone, so if you find something on our site that you think is not accurate, please feel free to contact us.

The Nature of Wood

Our products are made from real wood and given the very nature of wood, are not uniform, every tree is unique. What we love about wood are the many variatons that each tree has to offer, such as knots, grain patterns, colors, and texture and we look to embrace these variations in every piece crafted by us. As such, we cannot guarantee that your wooden product will look exactly as the pictures shown on our website, but that's just what makes your purchase unique.

Online Shop

Pictures and images of our products and services have been made to be an accurate representation of the wood type and colors of the products. However, as stated above, given the nature of wood and variations in computer monitors and device displays, we cannot guarantee that your purchase will look exactly as pictured.

While sizes are presented for our different products, due to the milling process of wood, product dimensions may vary in either direction, these variatons in dimensions are described on each of the product pages.

We currently offer sales within the United States of America only and we reserve the right to refuse any order placed with us.

Engraving

We will send you a proof for you to approve prior to us engraving. We are not responsible for any misspelled words, typos, other grammatical errors, or graphic mistakes that you submit with an order. What you submit to us and approve will be engraved "as-is" per your request.

Schedules and Timelines

All payments are due before any work can begin, unless indicated otherwise. We craft and engrave each piece in our woodworking shop. Most of our products are crafted once an order is placed. When ordering directly from our website, processing time is approximately 3 weeks (10-15 business days). Shipping time is approximately 2-3 days, but shipping delays are out of our control.

Our Gift Service

We keep your boards in our inventory until you are ready to send them. Given that you have paid in full for the gift service, these are your boards and you can request to have them sent anytime once they are crafted to anyone you desire in the U.S.A.

Custom Work

If your custom request requires us to design a piece for you, there will be a charge for the design work. We will notify you up front regarding any design costs. While we are hopeful that you have us do the custom work for you once the design is completed, we recognizie that you are free to shop the design around, and our time is just as valuable as yours, so we do charge for this design work. Any custom work order requires a minimum of 50% down which is non refundable once the work has started.

Your Privacy

We respect your privacy, we do not sell or share any information you provide to us to any third party. We do not use any analytics tool that tracks you. The only information that we store is what you provide us when submitting a form or order on our website and this data is only used so that we can conduct business with you. We do use a cookie to manage your session for ordering and completing our forms so that we know that you are an actual human and to keep your order correct.

This website is not intended to be used by children, and we do not knowingly collect any personal information about children.

Our Site may provide links to websites or other online platforms operated by third parties. If you follow links to sites not affiliated or controlled by us, you should review their privacy and security policies and other terms and conditions. We do not guarantee and are not responsible for the privacy or security of such sites, including the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of information found on these sites.

Third-Parties

We use Square by Block, Inc. for accepting credit card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay payments for our products and services, you should read Square's terms and privacy policy if you have any concerns or questions with what information Square collects and how the information is used.

Modifications

Any new content, features, or tools added to this website will also be subject to these terms. We will, from time-to-time, modify website content and change product prices, as well as modify these policies without notice, therefore, it will be your responsibility to monitor changes to our website. We shall not be liable to you or to any third-party for any modification, price change, suspension or discontinuance of the Service.

Legal Stuff

If for whatever reason we have a disagreement we're unable to resolve on our own, all parties involved agree to participate in mediation. The cost of mediation will be shared equally between all parties.

This agreement is subject to interpretation and enforcement under the laws of Maryland. Any legal action or mediation must be taken in Howard County, Maryland.

You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Lewis Woodwork, LLC and our affiliates, partners, officers, directors, agents, contractors, licensors, service providers, subcontractors, suppliers, interns and employees, harmless from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, made by any third-party due to or arising out of your breach of these terms and policies or the documents they incorporate by reference, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third-party.

If any portion of these terms and policies shall be unlawful, void, or for any reason unenforceable, then that portion shall be deemed severable from this contract and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining terms and policies.

Shipping Policy

Destinations

We currently only offer shipping to the 50 states within the United States of America. While we offer free shipping to the lower 48 U.S. states, if you would like your order shipped to Alaska or Hawaii, there will be additional charges for shipping costs. At the moment we do not offer international shipping.

Tracking Information

Once your order has been shipped, you will receive a confirmation email with tracking information for your package, allowing you to monitor the delivery progress.

Shipping Address

Customers, you, are responsible for providing accurate name and shipping addresses with orders. We are not responsible for packages delivered to an incorrect address provided by you.

Delivery Time

While we cannot guarantee shipping time, we are selecting 2-3 day delivery when sending your package, however, it can be anywhere from 2-6 days depending on your region, and longer during the holidays. Unforeseen circumstances, such as shipping delays or extreme weather conditions, may affect delivery times.

Damaged or Lost Product

In the rare and unfortunate event that your item arrives damaged or is lost during delivery, please contact us immediately (within 5 days of receipt for damaged items) at support@lewiswoodwork.com. We insure each package with the shipping company and will work with you to resolve the issue. We may need additional information from you, such as photographs of the damaged item, to file a claim with the shipping company. Please keep the box and product until the claim is resolved.

Any defective or damaged items that result from shipping will be replaced with a reproduction of the originally ordered product or repaired by us for custom projects.

We are unable to process any claims for damaged products after 5 days of receipt of the items. Please note that opening the box and checking the order is your responsibility.

Return Policy

Personalized, engraved, custom made, and pre-purchased products are not returnable. Boards that have gone through the dishwasher (we will know) are not returnable.

If you have an issue with your product, please email us at support@lewiswoodwork.com within five (5) days of receipt. If we have made an error, we will make it right and issue the correct product. We are not responsible for any misspelled words, typos, incorrect addresses or names, or other errors submitted on an order. The information that you submit to us will be used to personalize each item and ship the product. Please double check all information for completeness and accuracy.

We want you to be happy with your product, so please contact us at support@lewiswoodwork.com if there is an issue that we can solve together. For proper care we ask you to follow our Board Care Instructions when caring for your board. If your purchase is returnable, shipping costs and packaging will be your responsibility.
